About Is Amex Worth It?

Transparent, personalized guidance for choosing the right American Express card

Our Mission

We are Wildberry. We created "Is Amex Worth It?" because most credit card advice is either too generic or too promotional. We believe you deserve personalized, transparent calculations based on YOUR actual spending—not hypothetical scenarios or affiliate-driven recommendations.

Our Methodology

1. Transparent Calculations

Every dollar of value is calculated based on publicly available information about card benefits, earning rates, and credits. We show you exactly how we arrive at your personalized number.

2. No Email Collection Required

Your quiz answers are saved locally in your browser. We don't collect your email, create accounts, or track your personal information. This is about helping you, not building a marketing list.

3. Realistic Credit Usage

Unlike other calculators that assume 100% credit utilization, we ask about your actual likelihood of using credits. If you won't remember to use the $20/month digital entertainment credit, we don't count it in your value.

4. Conservative Point Valuations

We use reasonable point valuations (1.6¢ default for Membership Rewards) and allow you to adjust them. We don't inflate values to make cards look artificially attractive.

5. Updated for 2025

All annual fees, credits, earning rates, and benefits reflect the current 2025 offerings. We update our data regularly to ensure accuracy.

What We're NOT

  • • We're not affiliated with American Express
  • • We're not financial advisors (this is educational content only)
  • • We don't guarantee specific outcomes or values
  • • We're not responsible for changes to card terms after you apply

How We May Earn

We plan to use affiliate links in the future, meaning we may earn a commission if you apply through our links at no extra cost to you. Currently, our buttons link directly to American Express. When we add affiliate tracking, we'll maintain the same transparent, honest approach—we'll never recommend a card solely because it pays higher commissions.
